Teresa Sanz Marin - 2026:

Teresa Sanz Marín (Madrid, Spain) is a Spanish self-taught abstract artist based in Amsterdam. Although painting has been part of her life since childhood, she fully committed to her artistic practice in early 2023.

Working with acrylic and mixed media, she creates layered compositions through a process of adding, removing and rediscovering. Her work unfolds in a constant dialogue between intention and spontaneity, where colour, texture and form evolve organically. Each painting retains the visible traces of its journey, subtle marks, shifts and decisions that become part of the work’s final identity.

Her practice is deeply intuitive and rooted in emotion, personal experience and attentive observation of the world around her. Rather than pursuing a purely aesthetic result, her intention is to create works that open an inner space within the viewer; pieces that awaken memories, emotions or personal silences. For her, beauty does not end on the canvas, it begins in what each person feels when standing before it.

Each artwork is accompanied by a title, a quote and a reflective text written by the artist, an essential element of her creative process that deepens the emotional connection between the viewer and the piece.

She has exhibited in the Netherlands at Kunstdorp aan Zee (Muiderberg, 2025), Weespers aan de Wand (Weesp, 2025), Blooming Gallery (Bergen, 2025), the solo window exhibition Imagine (Amsterdam, 2025), and Kunst10Daagse (Bergen, 2024).
